CHING
The Chinese Qing or Ching is closely linked
to the Chinese term of Qi.
Qi represents the energy to keep us alive (only living beings have Qi).
Whereas, Ching represents a raw form of Qi. Namely the the kind
of energy which creates live. When sperm and egg fuse their Ching
is merged and a new live is born. Thus, the Ching is linked not only
to the energy of birth but also to the sexual energy in general.
Reading the Chinese LettersThe character for Ching is comprised of the main radical Mi, which symbolizes uncooked rice. It also contains the radical Sheng, which holds the meanings of life and birth. Lastly, the radical Tan is employed, meaning the essence of life. The symbol for tan carries the idea of the hue of a plant just sprouting; the white, green, and yellow hues that first burst forth. This idea is equated with the essence of life itself and is thereby extended to that of elixir.
