INCA MYTHOLOGY

Inca Mythology consists of two distinct parts: The religion of the common people is based on experiences the powers of nature spiritually. Their beliefs have been incorporated into the present Catholicism. The imperial Inca religion was generally reserved for the nobility and high priests.

Principles

The worship of the Inca Gods ( see The Inca Celestial) at special annual times was the most import part of the spiritual life. The main goal was to live in harmony with the Inca Cosmology.

The common people worshiped the Main Inca Gods.

Teachings

The common traditions were passed by oral heritage. The imperial teachings were confidential and were kept by the priests.
