Horns and Hooves

Horns are used in animal turf war especially in springtime. Thus, horns and hooves are connected to the male Energy of Life. They are symbols for male power and sexuality. Furthermore, they stand for Spring, growth and fertility.

Antlers, e.g. of the deer, refer not only to the annual spring but also to the revival of nature after winter. Thus, Antlers are a symbol for resurrection in general.

Yaws, Claws and Talons

Yaws, claws and talons are the natural weapons of animals, i.e. predators. Thus, they symbolize strength and the power to fight or hurt.

Wings

The wings symbolize the power to travel to any place. Especially, the sky and the spiritual realms. Thus, figures with magical powers are often equipped with wings providing the ability to travel to places were usual people can't go. Thus, Angles having wings because they are spirits which could travel to Haven.

Scales

The scales of fish represent the sea and the element of water. Furthermore, they represent quickness and fast movements.
The scales of lizard or snakes are often a symbol for rebirth and immortality because the old and used skin is thrown of and a new skin emerges.
