The horned (male) goat or Capricorn and other hoofed animals having horns and
antlers symbolize the annual seasons of Spring, i.e. the male fertility and
sexual power. In Spring the goats or the rams fight for superiority
and territory providing the ideal symbol for the rising powers of nature.
Thus, Horns and Hooves
are a symbol of male sexual power.
Similar to the Bull which is more a symbol of
physical strength and the Deer which is more
a symbol of rebirth.
In China the rhinoceros is the symbol of male sexual power.
There are almost 140 species of cloven-hoofed mammals belonging to the family of
Bovidae.
They are common in Africa, America, and Eurasia.
Within their extensive range, they occupy a wide variety of habitat types,
from desert to tundra and from thick tropical forest to high mountains.
